What a fun and quirky place to stay for a city trip! the rooms had original Art Deco features and the bedrooms were clean and tidy. the staff were really nice and helpful. I was grateful for the small bar heater and heated blankets, which kept me warm at night. the hotel is located in a great spot near lots of attractions, making it easy to get around.
Sadly, the hotel is quite old and in need of repair. the outside could do with a lick of paint and the rooms could use some soundproofing.

Spent Christmas here and it was a great experience! Convenient location close to good restaurants and cafes. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable! Loved that they had free Wi-Fi and the staff was super friendly and helpful. There was also a lovely garden outside the room which was a nice bonus!
There was a bit of street noise late at night which made it difficult to sleep at times. The walls were a bit thin so you could hear people in the other rooms, but overall, it wasn't too bad.

I felt like I was in a movie, with the vintage bathroom straight out of the fifties. the authentic tiles and fittings added to the experience. the linen was clean, which was a relief. the location of the hotel was perfect, and the staff, particularly Sylvia, were wonderful and friendly. I received a warm welcome and Sylvia even offered me a lift to the nearby Te Waihou walkway. the Te Waihou walkway itself was lovely, with beautiful blue springs. I also enjoyed the delicious coffee at the hotel. Cons: Can't fault the property in any way. 😄.
